This is the painting I did while taking a work shop from Susan Carlin. I'm still learning to take the pics so it looks better than my pic.I started out with my drawing not like the others but figured just go for it. I'm pleased with it and learned a lot. This little painting reminded me of all the times my father would like to go fishing and his calling was a Minister/Pastor so many time his trip was delayed because he would go to help someone which was far more important to him than going fishing. Story of My Play House

When I was a little girl about 8 years old my father worked driving a large truck and would often deliver at the Jacksonville shipyard. He found out that when a volkswagon bug car was delivered it came in a big wooden box and they would destroy the box after delivery. Daddy ask if he could have one and they said yes but u will have to deliver it to your house. (Not a problem since he drove an 18 wheeler) so one day he brought a big wooden box home and that weekend he added a door, windows and a roof and steps to it and painted it and mama made me curtains and daddy also made me table and chairs. I had the coolest playhouse in the neighborhood so my friend would come over on her pony and we would play for hours. Sometimes I would share with my brothers and they would make the playhouse a fort (YUK) This is what my playhouse and yard looked like so I put it to canvas.

This is only the 3rd portrait I have painted and the first Dark Skin Tone. I have a lot to learn but I think this is good for a first. Post your comments and let me know what u think.

This is one of my latest works. This was done on a 16"x20" Masonite panel. It was the first time I have done a large painting on Masonite and I did enjoy it and love the end results. The next one is a Magnolia done on canvas 10"x10" and it did turn out better than I thought it would when I first started with it. Both are oil done with non-toxic paints.

OK so it has been a bit since I updated because eBay has been keeping me busy....My ACEO Card's seem to be selling pretty good. I can remember when if I sold 3 a month I was happy and now I don't look at number I set a dollar amount I want to reach for the month and reach it. so far I have been able to do that...fee's are a little high but I'm having fun with the ACEO's and once you get into them you get hooked fast. :) I have posted a couple of the ones I have done for you to see but go to eBay for a full list of the ones I have on current auction. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZjcrawfordart If you have a custom ACEO you would like for me to do, just send me an email to janice@jcrawfordart.com and I will get back to you.
